I
started Website for Artists in May of 2006. From 1995 to
2002, I worked as a commercial digital Artist for many software
companies in the Boston area, such as Papyrus Design Group,
Turbine Entertainment, and Looking Glass. I basically made
race cars and monsters for computer game companies for seven
years!
In
2002, I moved to New York city to pursue my MFA in sculpture
at the New York Academy of Art. After graduation in 2004,
I used my past computer skills and worked for an e-commerce
as a web producer/designer. In 2006, I decided to start
my own company: Website for Artists, where I could offer
a great service to the Art community, have a more flexible
schedule, and divide my time between work I enjoy, computer
graphics, and work that defines who I am, sculpture.
As
an Artist myself, I feel I can understand what the life
of an artist is, the need to spend time in the studio, balanced
with the need to market and promote my artwork, balanced
with the need to find ways to make a living.
I
believe a website has become an essential promotional tool
for an Artist: it allows anybody from anywhere around the
world to see your work quickly and freely. I also believe
that a website does not have to be a financial burden on
anyone. I have designed my templates with Artists in mind,
making sure the work is the most important thing people
will remember when they visit your site.
